Rare and important example of an early vintage Navitimer.
Released in 1954 the Navitimer was developed by Breitling as the ultimate pilots tool watch for the AOPA (Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association) featuring the now iconic slide rule calculator.
During the late 1950s Breitling experimented with a few different logo configurations for a Breitling signed commercially available model for their own range. In 1959 they settled on the gold applied wings similar to the AOPA logo (but with a blank shield) with Breitling printed in white above the wings.
